Nurse - PRN, Hurricane

Location: Crisis Stabilization Center in Hurricane, Utah (near DMV)

Salary: $35 - $40 per hour, plus shift differential when applicable

Job Summary


Performs a variety of professional medical duties as needed to assist medical and clinical staff in the treatment, care, and evaluation of adults experiencing mental health and/or substance use disorder crises. This position requires that employees be able to respond to medical and/or behavioral emergencies quickly and effectively while maintaining their composure.

Essential Functions/Duties/Requirements

· Assessment of the physical and psychosocial condition of clients while cultivating a positive and supportive relationship.

· Knowledge of psychotropic medications, and Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT) medications, including potential side effects of both.

· Works independently with minimal supervision as well as effectively as a team contributor while understanding the necessity of communicating and/or coordinating client care with other employees and associated organizations including local mental health entities and area law enforcement.


General Responsibilities

· Coordination of services related to client care with peer support, case management, therapists, and other members of the multi-disciplinary treatment team involved in client advocacy.

· Assess and/or evaluate the client's mental/physical status at admission and throughout their stay.

· Address client medical needs promptly.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

Graduation from an accredited schools Registered Nurse (RN) program.

Required experience:

Requires a minimum of one to three years of experience as an RN. Specialization in the field of mental health preferred.

Licenses and/or Certifications:

Valid Utah Registered Nurse License; current and in good standing. Must maintain all nursing licensure requirements as outlined by Utah DOPL.

Ability to pass a background check (BCI).

Training: Complete Southwest Behavioral Health Center required training, including; CPR

Schedule: 12-hour shifts and possibility of on-call shifts
